The kasahorow dictionaries are seeing some joy as some new features have been added to them. Verbs are automatically conjugated depending on person. Check an example out from the Ga dictionary. And another one from the Akan dictionary. And yet another example from the English dictionary here.
Windows Installer - More Countries, More Layouts
Windows Keyboard Installer For Ghana Updated
We started making country-specific binaries for Windows. A first example can be found at the project page on Google Code . This installer helps you to install keyboard layouts for 5 language clusters in Ghana. We are working on a single installer that will include all the language clusters we work with. The resultant Windows executable threatens to be very huge (more than 20MB), but we feel it is worth the trouble.
Keyboards Available For Download
One of our prime focus is to create and promote African content. Writing in an African language requires the language's keyboard, that is why we are taking the time and effort to create keyboard layouts for most African languages across all the major operating systems.
Few months ago we made a public release of our keyboards for Windows and Mac, which are available for download at the project's download page. You can download by clicking on the filename in the list of files for download.
The Akan Spellchecker Extension
Just recently we released a spellchecker for Akan for the Mozilla Firefox and OpenOffice Suite based on the Akan dictionary. We started receiving feedbacks regarding how to make use of the extension. Its simple. Its a spellchecker extension so all it does is, it lookout for words that have been wrongfully spelt when filling in a form. It offers suggestions for the correct spelling of the word.
